I am glad you are fond of the final version. It'll be easy to get it a bit darker, don't worry. I can try it for you once I get back to my own computer. If necessary I could redraw those extraordinary bright chainmail spots. Similarly, perhaps it would be better to make it a bit more sketchy instead of having neat lines. But I suppose that might rather be a matter of taste. In fact my mediocre scanner is the reason why I changed these pencil drawings to consist only of neat, black lines in the first place. Nevertheless I really do appreciate the aesthetics of pen and ink drawings. Have you thought of a name for this particularly well-moustached Fyrning? Somehow I have been under the impression that this brave Ænglisc warrior requires a proper moustache. Since this drawing was originally planned to be merely a sketch, I did not think of a name to give him. If you already have a particular one in mind, you are more than welcome to voice it, Éadríc. Ah, pity about the chainmail. It must have been such a pain to have to redraw it from scratch, haha. To be able to draw all the details properly I decided to make the whole drawing bigger than the previous ones. As a result it took me almost forever to draw all the chainmail. I have also used a different technique. While I have previously just drawn wave lines, I have drawn each ring individually this time. This way I could keep the size of the rings relatively similar, but I have noticed that their distance is too large now. Next time I will try to improve on that. I'd recommend fooling around with your scanner and your Photoshop settings until you're happy with the result. To be honest, I have no access to Photoshop. Instead I rely on freeware regarding digital editing. Interesting that you replaced his nasal helmet with a Spangenhelm. The Spangenhelm is more beautiful, but the nasal helmet would be more accurate I think. After reading Waidulf's remark I wondered if I might actually change the helmet. But maybe you could give him another helm type? The one shown is a mid 11. ct. version and I would love to see any 10. ct. nasal (spangen) helmet here. In the end I have chosen to draw a spangenhelm, although I was well aware that you prefer the plain nasal helmet. Aesthetically I tend to prefer plain ones as well, but I decided that I should use the opportunity just to see how a spangenhelm drawn by myself would turn out. After all, the whole thing still is more of a concept drawing.

I really like your picture! maybe I'll try to make an attempt (which probably won't be anywhere near the quality of what you managed) as soon as I have the time for it.
